The SFAI Memory Collection talk series is a collaboration between SF Artists Alumni and the SFAI Legacy Foundation + Archive, celebrating the stories and achievements of the San Francisco Art Institute community.

Through intimate conversations, alumni, faculty, and artists share personal stories, archival insights, and reflections on their time at SFAI, offering a unique lens into the institution's vibrant artistic community from 1871 to 2022. This series fosters connection and honors the creative spirit that defined SFAI, creating an ongoing dialogue about its impact on contemporary art and education. Join us in preserving these invaluable memories and shaping the narrative of SFAI for future generations.

SFAI MEMORY COLLECTION TALK ARCHIVE

Linda Connor, Jack Fulton and Jeff Gunderson

1969-2022

This talk features three iconic figures from the SFAI community: celebrated photographers Linda Connor and Jack Fulton, alongside SFAI’s treasured archivist and historian, Jeff Gunderson. Together, they will share their unique perspectives on one of the earliest photography departments, which was founded by Ansel Adams in the first half of the 20th century. They will discuss memorable events from the late 1960s onwards.
