To publicize the location change from Nob Hill to Russian Hill the School made a brochure, complete with map identifying THE SCHOOL making sure the public knew that the “California School of Fine Arts, Affiliated with the University of California” was located at “Chestnut-And-Jones Streets, San Francisco.” The flyer announced that “students may enroll at any time” and that “The new site is easily accessible from all parts of the City and Bay Region. Cars of three street railway systems of the City pass within a block….the Stockton Street Municipal cars, the Bay and Taylor cars of the Powell Street Cable Line...and the Hyde Street cars of the California Street cable system….Columbus Avenue, a main highway...passes the lower corner of the property….Telephone Graystone 2500.”
