Expo-See, Nov.-Dec. 1984 no. 13, with Wally Hedrick cover
Expo-See magazine was published by artist, faculty member, and one-time entrepreneur, Mark Van Proyen from 1983 through 1986. The journal covered “art galleries and alternative spaces in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.” Van Proyen claims that Expo-See was the “very first desktop published art periodical.” Included were fascinating interviews with the likes of Bruce Conner, Joan Brown, Bill Fontana, Wally Hedrick, and Anna Halprin and had occasional guest editors such as Rolando Castellon and Bill Berkson.
