With the school receiving accreditation for the first time in the 1950s and the introduction of more non-studio courses and extracurricular activities, it is no wonder that big-time college athletics soon arrived on campus.  It seems to have begun with table tennis (aka ping-pong) in the 1950s, shown here in the school courtyard with Wally Hedrick on the left.
