Photographer Edward Weston started teaching at the school in 1948 as noted on his “Personnel Data” sheet where he lists his education as High School, “1st year only, 1903,” and his “trade or business experience as “Professional Photographer since about 1910.”  For the 1949 summer school brochure Weston is listed alongside Mark Rothko as “guest instructors.”
